It is not only speak from knowledge of the facts (my grandmother died of pancreatic cancer) and according to doctors (my husband is a doctor) the mortality rate is high not only because it is difficult to diagnose early but also the fragility the pancreas, causing a malignant tumor in this organ is highly aggressive.
To give you an idea, even a benign tumor in the pancreas can be as devastating as a malevolent, depending on the case.
Swayze probably had an early diagnosis and hopefully it can leave you out of the negative statistics.

I am also of the generation that watched "Point Break", "Ghost" among others and always thought the Patrick Swayze a good actor and I am very sad to know that he has cancer. It is unfair, because the guy always had a healthy life together ... and do what you know?
